    All our grandfathers.. What a generation, the ones who survived likely saw ww2.. So much sacrifice.. Grandfathers you are gone but we will never forget.. Xx

    My dad Andrew Harper joined the army in 1913 and his Mons Star with bar trio means that in August 14th 1914 he was in the forefront of that battle, l don’t know if he received his gunshot injury then or the later second time he went in the trenches. His medal trio is stamped from corporal to sergeant to eventual lieutenant.

  8. 5:41 – 203rd Reserve Infantry Regiment. My grandfather may have served with this regiment, but toward the end of the war. This clip must be from when it was formed in late 1914.
