Vietnam Studies have been produced on the time of the conflict by the navy as newsreels for the American public. All of the movie footage was shot in-country by fight cameramen, and Alan Smith anchors the report with numerous segments narrated on the scene by Armed Forces Radio And Tv (AFRTS) newsmen. The general high quality of the movie footage is just truthful, a bit grainy, as a result of the segments have been broadcast in a studio from a tv monitor. The movie footage from 1968 consists of segments on Freeway 9, the Huey Cobra, the village of Tan Mai, and the USS Harnett County.
