Soldier Turns to Farming to Feed Hungry Veterans

Like many veterans, Peter Scott, a former Army counterintelligence agent, struggled to reenter society after he left the service. During this time, he tried his hand at home gardening. What started as a hobby soon became a full-time occupation as he realized many veterans in his area were food insecure. Today, Peter owns and operates Fields 4 Valor Farms, a nonprofit that provides free produce to low-income families and homeless veterans in the Washington, D.C., region.
