the arctic convoy runs must have been truly horrific, especially with the constant non-stop ice build-ups, horrifically cold weather & limited to non-existant daylight.
a lot of people dont know and/or forget about the artic convoys, how important they were to the ussr, and their part in winning the war cannot, and should not be underestimated
And now we have soft ppl for example Black live matter or the LGBT community we need more ppl like this back then
Russia sapped Germany of its Army. The US crushed its production lines. Britain just outsmarted them. France provided intel.
Correction, the purpose of the U.S. Navy n the Atlantic was to get from point A to point B.
Sad to realize we are the last generation that can meet with veterans WW2
Rest in peace Adm Stevens. A true gentleman
My maternal grandfather Captain A B Macrae was there

Fuck up !!!
Probably 95+% of everything on those ships had "Made in U.S.A" written on it…. But it was only the English and canadians who helped save Russia.🤔
My amazing Dad was Royal Navy & was on a small escort vessel HMS Warspite a Corvette. He was only 19 coming back from Russia PQ16 he witnessed his best friends Merchant ship Empire Lawrence blown to smitherines by the Luftwaffe. they had several days of constant bombing by the Luftwaffe based in Norway. Churchill was right worst journey on earth
God bless all these sailors for the Murmansk convoys. Thanks to Russia for trying to honour those who served at sea. Too bad British politians blocked this. Stupid. Long live Russia. BC from Canada.
You should do a special on Katyn!
5:18 Nope that was Henry Temple Lord Palmerston's saying.

Let me get this straight. We supported the Soviet Union (I guess cause Hitler was actively seeking to rule the world) so the Soviets gobbled up almost all of Eastern Europe for have half of a century…maybe that is why BHO thought he should help ISIS so they could take over Iraq, Syria and everything else they could get their hands on.
Running the gauntlet in these hostile conditions.. much respect!!
I always wonder how the man of today would hold in situations such as this… for me all the people who took part in WW1 and WW2 no matter the side are heroes…. I myself would have never been able to accomplish any of the hard work and though situations that these man went trough… I worked on a ship on the Danube repairing and upkeeping buoys… was not easy or safe but it was far far from anything like any of this
Just go into military history nice to get WSU’s to learn about it without recording history on my dvr
wtf the Brits afraid of the Tirpitz.
That's my girl! Tirpitz a true beauty!
We supplied the Soviets with $11 billion worth of lend-lease goods during WWII, only for them to become our most feared and hated rival on the world scene right afterwards…
This Video touched my deeply. The heroic struggle of these Sailors and Seamen made me realise again the price we have to pay for our Lives, collectively speaking.
really sick of all this pro-russian fake ass propaganda
applause. well done on the video series
did I just saw a Jamaican flag?
A very well done segment, with interviews shared between the men of the countries involved. We were allies in those days . . . let's hope it happens again, despite all the bellicose rhetoric we hear of late (on both sides).
Thanks for posting, Wargaming.
