As usual England (and Britain) are outnumbered etc. Yet we know the result. May England never forget this, trafalgar, agincourt etc. ENGLAND NEEDS TO BE SOVEREIGN AGAIN!!🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The Empire Strikes Back. I had the great privilege of actually seeing a British Harrier. I really love the sleek black paint job on it, it looks very dynamic and advanced for the time.

  5. Si No Fuera Por La Ayuda De Estados Unidos Equipando Con Misiles Y Otro Tipos De Armas A Gran Bretaña. Diría Que Argentina Saldría De Vencedor..

there are real cam recordings of real displays with real radar trackings and real sounds – this was a static naval gun camera I guess

  7. Dale Griffiths says:

The Argentine missiles were extremely erratic. The sidewinder missiles that got fitted onto the harriers were courtesy of the American military – don’t even believe the American aircraft had used them at the time. Think things may have been very different if we didn’t have them.

  12. So what happened to the two state of the art British battleships that were sunk by the Argentinians? 😉 Some say they were hit by Exocet missiles launched from Argentinian Mirage Fighters. Others say that they were extraordinarily lucky dumb bomb hits from decades old A4-skyhawks. Some might say that it would be difficult for the Brits to admit that a French made missile sunk two state of the art British Battleships at that time… 😉

And to be fair, the Harrier, as much as I love her, has no chance against a proper fast fighter like the Mirage in the air. The Sidewinders of that era were rear aspect only and lucky to hit at even a good lock.

But why a country like Argentina every think that it would be a great thing to declare war against UK ? Did they wanted to test the leader of that time – Thatcher ?

Apparently, a burglar was more interesting to the writers of The Crown than this whole conflict.

  19. one down three to go no problem !! 😉

  20. "No air to air losses" that's because argentine targets were the ships, not the Harriers. They came armed with bombs, not with dogfighting equipment. It was a different matter when Harriers were in offensive role against ground troops… when many ended up destroyed….

  21. Nerf Shooter says:

Argentina claiming the Falklands are theirs even after losing a war over them is like Donald Trump claiming victory after losing

  24. I watched a spanish air force Harrier at farnborough 2 years ago. It absolutely stole the show – put the eurofighter in the shade – the pilot hovered about 20M above ground for 2 minutes – incredible power and control.

Before the outbreak of this war;Argentinian navy used to have exercises with the US navy and SouthAfrican one.The battle doctrines were, for instance, western.

  26. TemplarClip says:

I wonder why if the Argentine aircrafts had missiles with twice the range, why didnt they use it in that moment? Just asking out of curiosity

  27. Claudio TNC says:

Brits were good but the advantage were given by the american sidewinders, far superior than those in argentinian arsenal, argentinian ones had to be fired streight from behind as were heat seekers of previous generations, rather sidewinders could be fire from any position and were much faster and acurate

  29. Sierra Eco says:

  31. Farnanonical says:

To be fair the a-4s weren't fighters and didn't even carry air to air missiles for self-defense or electronics and It was a little bit slower than the sea harrier. That being said, the harrier isn't a Fighter either. Notice he said he only fired 2 missiles and he was out? Those were sidewinders, which are short-ranged. attack aircraft will normally carry them for self-defense.
