This episode of the U.S. Air Force’s “Air Force Now” begins with Steve Garvey of the Los Angeles Dodgers showing his ignorance of AFN. It then features various segments. The first is about AC-130 Gunships operating in Southeast Asia using television and infrared surveillance. A 1972 press conference is shown with Lt. Gene George Eade discussing the effectiveness of airpower in the war. A gathering of aces is shown and a discussion of the importance of maintaining standards for the military. At the 11 minute mark USAF members who are in training on bicycles, with hopes of becoming Olympic riders. At the 13 minute mark, USAF relief activities in Peru are shown in the wake of an earthquake and flooding using Huey helicopters. At 15 minutes, Sammy Davis Jr. is shown performing in Vietnam entertaining the troops.
