    So this looks like they are moving through a mine field. @2:52 you can see the shovel attached to the front. Engineers will fire explosive cables across a mine field to detonate them and create safe corridors for the rest of the armoured vehicles to funnel through. The odd movements may be the tanks going from a wide formation and turning into these narrow funnels.
